ExtruMed's lead tubing is used in various active electrode applications. Typically, the tubing is applied as insulation to cover the electrodes used to deliver an electrical stimulus.

DESCRIPTION

Precision Lead Tubing
Lead tubing requires the highest level of precision for dimensional, surface, cosmetic and mechanical properties and mechanical properties. Tolerance, surface finish and cosmetic specifications for lead tubing are extremely rigorous and require the highest level of process and quality control.

TECHNOLOGY

Materials, Tooling, Process and Quality Control
ExtruMed has experience with all commercial grades of polyurethanes and polyurethane co-polymers used for lead tubing. We can optimize customer-specific product attributes, such as surface, abrasion resistance, biomechanical properties, torque and pushability, by developing material-specific extrusion process conditions and controls. ExtruMed also designs all of its tooling and has integrated tool design, using materials and process, to master the extrusion of lead tubing. ExtruMed personnel are well trained and highly experienced in the inspection of lead tubing for cosmetic and dimensional defects. In addition, ExtruMed has developed an annealing process that accounts for and alleviates the dimensional instability of polyurethanes over time.
