ExtruMed was founded in 1990 with the express purpose of providing custom thermoplastic extrusions to the medical industry. In 2005, ExtruMed embarked on a strategic growth plan to become the market leader providing precision tubing solutions to the industry, serving customers with critical applications in minimally invasive, interventional and implantable therapies. Our core markets include Vascular Intervention, including coronary, peripheral and neurovascular, Cardiac Rhythm Management, Neurostimulation, Endosurgery and Vascular Access.

ExtruMed has been serving a wide variety of medical device OEMs, ranging from venture-backed start-ups to leading global medical device companies. We understand that customers have unique needs and we are ready to serve these demands by establishing unique outsourcing relationships with each customer. In addition, we have the capability and resources to support projects at any stage in the product lifecycle, from prototype development through full scale production volume.

Our range of precision tubing solutions includes catheter, lead and device tubing manufactured to exacting tolerances from virtually any thermoplastic and is available in many configurations, including co-extrusions, multi-lumens, and tapers. In addition, we offer irradiated balloon tubing and polyolefin heat shrink tubing. We also complement our precision tubing solutions with value added services for our customers. These services include secondary operations such as annealing, tipping, mechanical testing, pressure testing, process validations and inventory management.

Our Operations team has over 100 years of experience in the custom extrusion industry. Our staff is able to provide the design and technical expertise required to support your advanced extrusion needs for innovative solutions to product development challenges. Our staff is also equipped to manage continuous improvement projects to support quality and cost engineering objectives. Our Management team also has extensive experience in the medical device outsourcing business and is able to offer innovative and effective solutions for a wide variety of business challenges.
